Mauldin High School alum Andru Phillips was taken in Friday night’s portion of the NFL Draft as the Giants made the Kentucky defensive back a third round selection, and the 70th overall pick.

Phillips wrapped-up his Mauldin career in 2019 and played at UK from 2020-2023.

Another player with an area connection, one-time USC running Back MarShawn Lloyd was selected by the Packers later in the third round with the 88th overall pick.

Lloyd played last fall at Southern Cal.
